Sugar's Story

One morning changed everything.

Sugar is our beloved dog and truly part of our family. Just one day before her emergency, she was her normal happy, playful self. The next morning everything changed โ€” she suddenly struggled to breathe, and we rushed her to the ER.

After several tense hours, Sugar was transferred to a specialty hospital, where we learned she had an acute lung lobe torsion โ€” a twisted lung that can be rapidly fatal without surgery. She needed an emergency CT scan, Doppler ultrasound, and immediate surgery to save her life.

Thanks to the incredible veterinary team, Sugar survived the operation and is now on the road to recovery. Her doctors expect her quality of life to be normal once she heals, and we're so grateful she has this second chance.

We are asking for help with the overwhelming cost of her emergency care, surgery, and follow‑up appointments. Every dollar raised will go directly toward Sugar's medical bills. If we are fortunate enough to receive more than we need, we will donate the extra to help another animal in need.

This experience has been terrifying and humbling, but Sugar is worth everything to us. Anything you can give โ€” whether a donation or simply sharing her story โ€” helps more than you know. Thank you for helping us give Sugar the future she deserves.

Every dollar goes directly to Sugar's care.

Post-Surgery Day 3 ยท February 18, 2025

Welcome home ๐Ÿค

It is such a wonderful feeling to have Sugar home again with all of her family. She is resting very well and is happy to be home. Currently she is sleeping with a bunch of snoring. Stay tuned for more updates as she recovers. Please find the kindness in your heart and help with her emergency surgery costs, it was enough to buy a small car. We appreciate anything you can give.

Post-Surgery Day 3

She Made It ๐Ÿค

Sugar came through surgery. She's resting, breathing on her own, and already trying to wag her tail. We cried happy tears all morning. Thank you for every prayer and every share.
